- ➤ Caneyville’s Josh Monin family won the Largest Pumpkin Contest at the Kentucky State Fair on Saturday with a 1,621-pound pumpkin named Princess Peach—just 43 pounds short of the record. Monin said his contest entry is not his biggest as two more pumpkins are growing at home in a greenhouse that controls water and wind. K105
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A Grayson County man was airlifted after an ATV accident on Saturday afternoon near Northgate Drive off Brandenburg Road—responders found him seriously injured in a side-by-side wreck and moved him from Leitchfield Fire to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center before he was flown to a hospital in Louisville. - ➤ Police have released footage of a suspect wanted for an armed robbery at Eastview Food Mart and ask local residents for help to identify him — the robbery remained unsolved since early July. The News-Enterprise

- ➤ Elizabethtown Police Chief Jeremy Thompson was named Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police Chief of the Year for growing the department from 52 to 90 officers—he plans to renovate the building at 300 South Mulberry Street and work on a new five-year plan. Quicksie 98.3
- ➤ Gov. Beshear banned the sale of the synthetic drug nicknamed Designer Xanax after it was linked to 48 overdose deaths last year. He used an emergency regulation to classify Bromazolam as a Schedule I controlled substance—making Kentucky the sixth state to do so. WLKY
