Caneyville’s Josh Monin family won the Largest Pumpkin Contest at the Kentucky State Fair on Saturday with a 1,621-pound pumpkin named Princess Peach—just 43 pounds short of the record.

Monin said his contest entry is not his biggest as two more pumpkins are growing at home in a greenhouse that controls water and wind.

A Grayson County man was airlifted after an ATV accident on Saturday afternoon near Northgate Drive off Brandenburg Road—responders found him seriously injured in a side-by-side wreck and moved him from Leitchfield Fire to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center before he was flown to a hospital in Louisville.

Police have released footage of a suspect wanted for an armed robbery at Eastview Food Mart and ask local residents for help to identify him — the robbery remained unsolved since early July.
