In April, the Lincoln Trail District's average unemployment rate was 4.7%, slightly higher than last April, with Hardin County at 5% and Washington County at 3.7%, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics.

Area school districts are launching summer meals programs for children 18 and under, with Elizabethtown schools serving at three sites from June 1 through July 24 (no meals June 29 to July 3) and Hardin County and Breckinridge Schools starting on June 3 with varying schedules; parents must register online.
