- ➤ A 19-year-old has been charged with killing 20-year-old Dixie Brainard, the mother of his baby, and an unidentified man when their bodies were found Wednesday at a residence on Big Stoner Road 10 miles southeast of Paris—he was later arrested near the Rowan-Carter County line and is held in the Bourbon County Detention Center. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Severe storms have brought flash flooding across the region, and in Kentucky a 9-year-old and a 74-year-old were killed by rising water in Nelson County while roads and bridges were damaged. Hopkinsville reopened after water receded from the Little River — officials warn more heavy rains expected today could lead to further flooding and road closures. WKYU-FM

- ➤ Eric Friedlander, a key leader in our COVID-19 response, will retire in August after 40 years of service as Secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Gov Beshear named Dr. Steven Stack—Commissioner of the Department for Public Health—as his successor. K105
