  • A 19-year-old has been charged with killing 20-year-old Dixie Brainard, the mother of his baby, and an unidentified man when their bodies were found Wednesday at a residence on Big Stoner Road 10 miles southeast of Paris—he was later arrested near the Rowan-Carter County line and is held in the Bourbon County Detention Center.  K105

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Severe storms have brought flash flooding across the region, and in Kentucky a 9-year-old and a 74-year-old were killed by rising water in Nelson County while roads and bridges were damaged. Hopkinsville reopened after water receded from the Little River — officials warn more heavy rains expected today could lead to further flooding and road closures.  WKYU-FM
