- ➤ Hardin County Public Library will launch a two-month winter reading challenge on Monday to encourage local patrons to explore a variety of winter-themed books at the library. The News-Enterprise
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Hardin County officials remind residents to properly use recycling trailers after holiday excess led to overfilled bins. They urged residents to break down cardboard and only deposit accepted items (rinsed plastics, aluminum, cardboard, newspaper) at trailers in Radcliff, Eastview, Glendale, Sonora, Vine Grove, and Elizabethtown. - ➤ Kentucky will lower its personal income tax rate from 4% to 3.5% starting Jan. 1 as part of House Bill 1; Rep. Ken Fleming said the move is a step toward eventually eliminating the tax + the change follows a strong rainy day fund and surplus revenue. WLKY

- ➤ RSV season is active until March and local health services advise expectant mothers to get a vaccine between 32 and 36 weeks from September to January — this transfer of antibodies protects newborns while infants and at-risk older adults may receive an antibody shot.
