  • Hardin County Animal Shelter features Patches and Andy this week as they seek Furever homes. The shelter holds its 9th Annual Howliday Special (through December 20) offering $25 adult dog adoptions when visitors bring a new Children’s toy or gift card.  Quicksie 98.3

  • Job scams targeting seasonal work are emerging as local retailers and shippers hire extra staff this holiday season; officials warn job seekers to verify offers before sharing personal information.  The News-Enterprise

EDUCATION NEWS

  • About 200 graduates joined family members + friends on Tuesday at Elizabethtown Community & Technical College’s Fall 2025 Commencement Ceremony held at Severns Valley Baptist Church, where officials encouraged them to keep doing what they love.  The News-Enterprise

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Michael Faris, an Air Force veteran from Elizabethtown, filed to run for U.S. Senate, saying his service (and local roots) will guide his campaign to address community needs.  The News-Enterprise
  • The right lane on Gene Snyder is closed for concrete repairs from mile marker 7 to mile marker 9 (between KY 1865/New Cut Road and KY 1020/National Turnpike). Work will continue until 12 p.m. today and delays are expected.  WLKY

HEALTH NEWS

  • Radcliff Deputy Fire Marshal Tommy Crane advises residents to clean and inspect fireplaces and stove pipes, use seasoned wood with cooled ashes, and operate clear K-1 kerosene heaters in well-ventilated rooms when using alternative heating sources. He also recommends checking that carbon monoxide detectors are working properly.  Quicksie 98.3

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • A new hotel in Elizabethtown may move forward after the planning commission recommended a zone map amendment (a proposal that could lead to official approval in the new year). Officials expect final approvals to come in the upcoming months.  The News-Enterprise
