BUSINESS NEWS

  • Ford is restructuring its Glendale facility, so BlueOval SK is laying off its entire Hardin County workforce. Laid-off employees will receive pay for 60 days (and they may apply for 2,100 new positions as Ford repurposes the site for battery storage).  WKYU-FM

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Hardin County Schools Performing Arts Center announced Aaron Taylor as its new director as Bart Lovins retires at the end of the month. Taylor, who joined in 2005 (20 years at the theater), will lead The Nutcracker performances on Dec. 19, 20, and 21.  Quicksie 98.3

EDUCATION NEWS

  • North Hardin High School’s team won a $10,000 prize at the sixth annual Altec Innovation Challenge at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College after designing a rapid door-secure device for classrooms; the funds will support project implementation in spring 2026.  Quicksie 98.3

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The National Labor Relations Board is holding a two-day hearing today and tomorrow at the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce in Elizabethtown on a contested union election at BlueOval SK in Glendale, where 41 challenged ballots from Safety Emergency Response Team workers + may affect the narrow result.  WKYU-FM
