- ➤ The Elizabethtown Lions Club will host its third annual New Year’s Day Dash 5K Fun Run/Walk on January 1 at the Elizabethtown Sports Park with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. and the race beginning at 9. Registration costs $35 for adults while children nine and under are free — all proceeds will benefit Envision Blind Sports — and those who sign up by December 17 will receive a hot chocolate mug. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City crews are working to clean up after the UPS plane crash that killed 14, and on Monday night local businesses along Melton and Able Avenue were allowed to run third shift operations — a step to help reopen the area. About 150 workers remain on site as officials hold weekly updates, but there is no clear timeline for fully reopening Grade Lane. WLKY
