Radcliff Deputy Fire Marshal Tommy Crane (noting that cooking fires are the main cause of home fires) advises checking smoke and carbon monoxide detectors (and ensuring proper circuit use for appliances) to prevent fire hazards. - ➤ Eye Physicians of Elizabethtown kicked off its annual Christmas donation drive today—donations will benefit two local nonprofits. The News-Enterprise
- ➤ Donations for the Kentucky State Police Post Four’s Shop with a Trooper program and the Elizabethtown Police Department’s Shop with a Cop program are still being accepted to help bring holiday cheer to local children in need. The programs aim to raise $250 to $300 per child and provide essential clothing and a special toy while donations can be dropped off at the Elizabethtown Police Department at 300 South Mulberry Street — community members and local businesses are encouraged to contribute. - ➤ Drivers in Bullitt County must allow extra travel time as Bells Mill Road between Shepherdsville and Mount Washington is closed for bridge repairs—detours via Preston Highway and KY-44 are in effect until May 2026. Shepherdsville Mayor Jose Cubero said the change will shift traffic patterns and cause delays while ensuring safety during the project. WLKY
