- ➤ On Tuesday, dozens of veterans and community members gathered at American Legion Post 113 in Elizabethtown to honor every branch of the armed forces on Veterans Day. Joe Garrett, a U.S. Army veteran with 26 years of service, and Patricia Richmond, a medic with 21 years, both shared that the event helped keep their military stories alive + showcased the lasting impact of service. - ➤ Gordon Food Service donated a 2016 Volvo Day cab truck—supporting Elizabethtown Community and Technical College's diesel technology program, which trains students in modern fleet maintenance. The News-Enterprise
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Kentucky utility regulators may approve a rate increase that would add $5 a month for LG&E customers and $9 for KU customers to cover nearly $168 million in losses from two aging out-of-state coal plants—utilities also plan to invest $3.7 billion in new generation projects, including two natural gas plants, to meet rising data center demand. - ➤ Sen. McConnell added a provision to the continuing resolution that limits hemp products to containers with no more than .4 milligrams of THC— a rule Sen. Rand Paul and hemp businesses say will wipe out Kentucky’s hemp industry. The Senate passed the measure 76–24, and critics warn the rule will force local hemp operations to close unless the House removes the language. WKYU-FM
