- ➤ Hometown Hangout in Leitchfield is offering ‘The Blue Plate,’ a free meal of cheeseburger, fries and a drink from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. until the government shutdown ends—helping customers facing food and aid shortages. K105

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland will ramp up efforts to support Kentuckians affected by the government shutdown that disrupted SNAP benefits after Governor Beshear’s October 31 emergency declaration—its Elizabethtown headquarters will host a press conference Thursday. Executive Director Charles Dennis said more than 57,000 households received SNAP benefits in October and noted that just over $1 million of the $5 million disbursement will help supply local food banks.
