  • The United Way of Central Kentucky is hosting a grant application training session at its office on 604 North Main Street in Elizabethtown this Thursday at 2 p.m. Nonprofits focused on education, health, financial stability or helping families are encouraged to attend.  Quicksie 98.3

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Band of Hawks advanced to the KMEA State Finals after finishing their marching season on the weekend (after many hours of rehearsals on pavement, grass and turf).  The News-Enterprise

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A forecast for Halloween in Elizabethtown shows that trick or treaters will face cool Friday night temperatures in the 50s with mostly dry skies, while scattered rain is expected in southern and western areas today—residents should carry rain gear in case conditions change.  WLKY

HEALTH NEWS

  • Dr. Shannon Holt from Baptist Health Hardin proposed the PinkDot Project to help local women and girls who struggle to afford menstrual supplies after a patient said she had to stop her periods, with donations accepted at Gathering Bakery in Radcliff and HubHaus in Elizabethtown—residents and local organizations can also support the effort by donating through the Community Foundation website.  Quicksie 98.3
