- ➤ Employees from BlueOval SK filed a federal lawsuit on Sept. 24 alleging that the Hardin County battery plant did not pay overtime for pre-shift work — lead plaintiffs Sean O'Brien and Randall Moore claim the company paid only scheduled time and altered clock times in violation of labor laws. - ➤ The Hardin County Public Library will hold a fall book sale starting Thursday—October 2nd as construction along St. John Road has removed signage at its entrance. The News-Enterprise
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Elizabethtown Community and Technical College got a $100K grant to build the Legacy Foundation STEM Lab next to allied health classrooms — the lab will have a full-time tutor to help students pass key courses. College officials say the lab aims to remove academic barriers and better prepare students for careers in healthcare — the new facility will support student success. K105
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A release from the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet stated that West Point will receive $300,000 to build a bioswale and rain garden in Veterans Park while Vine Grove will get $270,605 for the Rose Creek Stream Restoration Project using plant and soil systems and permeable surfaces to address sewer overflow and stormwater needs. Officials said the projects will reduce water runoff + improve local water management and are expected to be completed by September 2028. Quicksie 98.3

- ➤ A Leitchfield couple won a $40,000 prize on the Kentucky Lottery's Pumpkin Payout 9X Scratch-off ticket when the wife bought it at Walmart on Elizabethtown Road while her husband was working, and they received a check for $28,800 after taxes. They plan to use the winnings to buy a second car and make home improvements. K105

- ➤ The Lincoln Trail Area Development District outgrew its College Street facility in just over three years and is moving into a larger space. Officials say the expansion will help the district better serve the community—improving local services and accommodation. The News-Enterprise
