ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources has reported an outbreak of Hemorrhagic Disease in white-tailed deer with 553 cases and 1,074 deer sick or dead, including in Jefferson County—deer show signs like fever and trouble breathing within a week. Hunters are told not to eat sick deer—and to report any finds as officials work to track the outbreak. WLKY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Vine Grove Fire Department will not rebuild its station destroyed by fire last month — the loss included thousands of dollars in spare equipment and three trucks. Community members raised over $10,000 and Fire Chief Matthew Haddle said the department has enough equipment to operate but plans to replace two lost trucks soon. WLKY
