  • A local VFW post is hosting a fundraiser to support Wreaths Across America so every fallen veteran is remembered—organizers say more event details and donation options will be shared soon.  The News-Enterprise
  • Looney’s Billiard Lounge in Elizabethtown is hosting an 8-ball Jack and Jill scotch doubles tournament fundraiser for Sycamore Farm—an organization that aids women exiting sex trafficking and exploitation—this Saturday at 10 a.m. The $20 entry fee will support the nonprofit’s safe housing and long-term residential programs.  Quicksie 98.3
  • Local charity Give 270 is hosting Whiskey Wednesdays as part of another installment of Pappy Palooza, with the event currently underway.  The News-Enterprise

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Employees and office personnel at Mouser Cabinetry take a break from manufacturing on Saturday to celebrate the company’s 70th anniversary—marking a major milestone for the business.  The News-Enterprise

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources has reported an outbreak of Hemorrhagic Disease in white-tailed deer with 553 cases and 1,074 deer sick or dead, including in Jefferson County—deer show signs like fever and trouble breathing within a week. Hunters are told not to eat sick deer—and to report any finds as officials work to track the outbreak.  WLKY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Vine Grove Fire Department will not rebuild its station destroyed by fire last month — the loss included thousands of dollars in spare equipment and three trucks. Community members raised over $10,000 and Fire Chief Matthew Haddle said the department has enough equipment to operate but plans to replace two lost trucks soon.  WLKY
