- ➤ The Rineyville community is preparing for its homecoming celebration as part of Rineyville Days, one of several festivals scheduled for this weekend—promising family-friendly activities for local residents. The News-Enterprise
- ➤ State police, law enforcement and Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club escorted the remains of U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Henry Gish—declared missing in action in 1986—after his flag-draped coffin was taken off a plane at Louisville airport Thursday. He will be laid to rest in Berea with full military honors. WLKY

- ➤ The City of Radcliff will hold its seventh annual Cultural Festival at Radcliff City Hall this Saturday from 4 to 9 p.m. Festival organizer Pete Countryman has planned live performances, a Taste of the World Food Court with flavors from countries like Belize, Cuba, Germany, Italy, Jamaica, and Mexico, and a parade beginning at 5 p.m.—inviting the local community to celebrate its rich diversity. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Bullitt County Public Schools has partnered with Slingshot to design an AI-powered anti-bullying app that lets students report bullying, access quick emergency contacts, and chat for help—students at the River Opportunity Center helped shape the tool to feel approachable and it is expected to roll out later this school year. - ➤ The Kentucky YMCA Youth Association is expanding its Commonwealth Teen Advocates program to help teens learn how government works and fill gaps in education; students will meet weekly this fall at sites across seven counties—including Jefferson—and work on projects that address local challenges. A three-year grant from the Bezos Family Foundation funds the free six-week program, which will end with final presentations at the Kentucky Youth Assembly conference next month. WLKY

- ➤ State Auditor Allison Ball said the review found the Kentucky Department of Medicaid Services ignored federal alerts—causing over $800 million to be wasted through duplicate capitation payments to managed care organizations between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2022. K105
- ➤ Today, the Kentucky State Police reminded residents to never beat a train and to cross tracks only at designated points—following all warning signs, signals and gates. 'See Tracks?
