- ➤ Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland opened a 12,000-square-foot facility in Bowling Green to store food for partner agencies in counties such as Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Simpson, and Warren. The center will support the Farms to Food Bank Program—expanding access to Kentucky-grown produce to help address rising food insecurity. WKYU-FM
- ➤ Sugar Plum and Monkey—two dogs seeking forever homes—are featured this week at Hardin County Animal Shelter in Elizabethtown, which will also host a rabies clinic. The shelter welcomes visitors at 220 Peterson Drive Monday to Saturday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. and can be reached at 270-769-3428. Quicksie 98.3

- ➤ The Hardin County Fiscal Court met Tuesday and Clerk Brian D. Smith named Bluegrass Middle School student Alyson Marinich as Hardin County Election Ambassador after she won the state I Voted sticker contest—Smith also said his office scanned 70 years of election history and approved a bid-reviewed lease for accessibility equipment. The meeting covered a new cultural heritage plan by the Hardin County History Museum and a drop in permits amid market uncertainty, and the court will meet again on September 23. Quicksie 98.3
