ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On August 16, a side-by-side left tall grass on a family farm in White Mills and collided with 13-year-old Mason Skees on his new dirt bike—shattering his femur into over 50 pieces and leading to six units of blood, four surgeries, and a nine-day hospital stay while Hardin County Deputy AJ Rees comforted him and later visited with snacks, an Xbox gift card, and a church donation.  K105

  • Employees at BlueOval SK Battery Park in Glendale voted narrowly to unionize with 526 for and 515 against, though 41 ballots remain challenged — leaving the final outcome in doubt. The National Labor Relations Board will review the disputed votes — a decision that may affect battery jobs in Kentucky.  K105

  • Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services posted a letter today telling families to ignore earlier notices that threatened to refer them to debt collectors for unsolicited Summer EBT cards — the agency apologized and said the error came from inaccurate information provided by the education department.  WKYU-FM
  • Attorney General Russell Coleman announced that Hardin County business Compensation and Pension Garage—accused of taking advantage of veterans—has been closed by a court order after an investigation found that funds were misused; detectives reported that more than $125,000 was spent on gambling and dining, which delayed veterans' access to benefits.  K105
