  • Scout Lilith Trupp announced that Troop 829 will host a Craft Fair at First Presbyterian Church on September 20 — a chance for local scouts to display handmade items and engage the community. The event is set to bring together community members and support the scouts’ upcoming projects.  Quicksie 98.3
  • Adopt Me! Bluegrass Pet Rescue in Crestwood is losing its adoption center at 5915 W State Highway 22 and will need to secure a new 4,000—6,000 square foot facility by Dec. 31 to continue placing over 7,000 animals in homes over the past decade.  WLKY

CRIME NEWS

  • Elizabethtown Police arrested Deadrick Jackson, 30, on Sunday after he fired his gun into the air at the Cherry Alley parking lot off North Main Street — officers later recovered 13 spent shell casings and a Glock 10 mm handgun from his car and charged him with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, with no injuries or property damage reported.  WLKY
  • An Elizabethtown resident indicted for manslaughter will appear today at Hardin Circuit Court for a pre-trial conference—authorities say the proceeding will set the stage for further legal actions.  The News-Enterprise
  • A Grayson County man named Lee A. Gibson was arrested today at 8:30 p.m. on Elizabethtown Road for his second DUI, possession of methamphetamine, and alleged violations of his release conditions—he was stopped when a trooper pulled over his Chevy for expired registration and a reversal in direction.  K105
  • Jon Snow, the lead detective in the Crystal Rogers case, has been ordered to appear at the Sept. 17 sentencing for Brooks Houck and Joseph Lawson—Houck faces life in prison and Lawson may receive up to 25 years after being found guilty.  WLKY
  • Kentucky and Kansas law enforcement arrested Justin R. Bevitt in Shawnee County on child sex crime charges after a family reported that a juvenile left home with him; he will be extradited to Kentucky as the investigation continues.  Quicksie 98.3
