  • This week, Honey, an 11‑month‑old copper-colored hound weighing almost 40 pounds, and King, a brindle and white pittie with one brown and one blue eye, are looking for Furever homes at a local shelter. The Hardin County Animal Shelter offers a Dog Days of Summer special where dogs five months or older can be adopted for $25—Pet Supplies Plus is also hosting Dogust to support the Hardin County Playhouse.  Quicksie 98.3

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On August 20th, flames tore through the Vine Grove fire station in Hardin County at about 2:30 a.m.—destroying equipment including three firetrucks as neighboring departments stepped in and investigators work to determine the cause amid community prayers.  WLKY

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Nearly four years after the September 2021 project announcement, BlueOval SK announced on Tuesday that production began at its Kentucky 1 plant in Glendale—transforming an empty field into a modern facility that makes batteries for the Ford F150 Lightning and eTransit. Currently, 1,450 workers are on the 1500 acre site, and the plant marks a key milestone in boosting Kentucky’s EV battery industry.  Quicksie 98.3

  • A trial date has been set for a Radcliff man accused of killing an 18-month-old girl.  The News-Enterprise

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State law enforcement and the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety are working with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to run the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign until September 1. The groups warn drivers to plan a safe ride if they drink—since more than 4,000 impaired driving crashes caused injuries and deaths in 2024.  Quicksie 98.3

HEALTH NEWS

  • Walmart is recalling frozen Great Value shrimp after the FDA warned that some batches might have Cesium-137 contamination — local shoppers should throw the shrimp away and ask for a refund from the store.  K105
