  • Hardin County Animal Shelter in Elizabethtown hosts Dog Days of Summer where dogs 5 months old or older can be adopted for $25, featuring Bambi a 2 year old black Shepherd mix and Ollie a 1 year old cream poodle weighing 30 pounds seeking Furever homes, plus Pet Supplies Plus is running the Dogust fundraiser to support Hardin County Playhouse with the shelter open Monday to Saturday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at 220 Peterson Drive.  Quicksie 98.3

CULTURE NEWS

  • Kentucky State Fair Board Vice Chair Joseph T. Goggin joins Brian and Trisha for Kentucky State Fair on the Air— a podcast that gives local listeners fair updates and insights, available now for those tuning in today.  Quicksie 98.3

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet suspended nearly 2,000 driver’s licenses after an investigation revealed that ineligible applicants paid temporary workers to illegally secure licenses—Gov. Andy Beshear said law enforcement has begun a criminal inquiry and all involved temp staff have been terminated.  K105
  • The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said House Bill 664 now allows automated speed monitoring in active work zones—cameras and warning signs will be added in select zones this summer and fall to help keep drivers and crews safe. Officers beyond the zones will stop speeding drivers to issue $500 tickets when workers are present.  Quicksie 98.3
  • Three Hardin County students are among the nine finalists chosen for the state’s I Voted sticker contest. Voters can cast their vote at the Kentucky State Fair + the winning design will be printed for the May primary.  Quicksie 98.3
