🚧 Accidents
Tuesday night, a massive fire destroyed a large garage and truck on Anneta Road (6800 block in the Meredith area) when work on a truck left it unattended, and firefighters from the Anneta and Leitchfield Fire Departments and Grayson Co. Emergency Management protected a nearby home (which lost two windows and an above-ground pool) while containing the blaze by 11:10 p.m. with no injuries reported.
A small Cessna 150 lost an engine and made a safe controlled landing in a field off Hardinsburg Road near Fordsville Tuesday evening—its sole occupant was not injured.
🏛️ Government
Hardin County Fiscal Court met Tuesday and discussed the White House approval of Public Assistance for April severe weather recovery while approving resolutions for disaster aid processing, a lease with Stryker for new accessibility devices, and a budget amendment to cover expenses such as ambulances and library funds—steps that address local damage. The court also shared updates on jail intakes and animal shelter numbers and will meet again on August 26.
