- ➤ Central Kentucky Community Action Council held a ribbon cutting on Friday morning at its new headquarters at 708 Westport Road in Elizabethtown. The building now houses programs such as Elizabethtown Head Start, Kentucky Works & Community Collaboration for Children and was celebrated by local and state officials as a future boost for local families. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents must submit public comments by Friday on the Transportation Improvement Plan to the Radcliff/Elizabethtown Metropolitan Planning Organization. The News-Enterprise
- ➤ Gov. Andy Beshear announced today that the state launched a website—StopScams.ky.gov—to help Kentuckians spot scams, report fraud, and secure their personal information. The site was built with state agencies and private partners to provide trusted scam alerts via email or text message. K105
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The American Red Cross said there is an urgent need for Type O, O-positive and O-negative blood and urged local donors to give blood in August when a $15 e-gift card and free diabetes tests are offered. Officials said they will visit schools in September and October to help maintain the blood supply as students return to class. Quicksie 98.3
