🎓 Education
More than 600 local high school seniors (including Joslyn Hinton, Nate Crumbley, and Avery Dowell) received over $980K in scholarships from Kentucky Farm Bureau across the state and 113 counties.
The awards support students planning four-year degrees in agriculture or related fields.
Kentucky Fish and Wildlife is hosting free hunter education classes on Saturday, Aug.
1 (covering hunter ethics, firearm safety, first aid and more) across local venues statewide. Registration is required (for both in-person classes and live-fire range days) ahead of mid-August hunting seasons.
🏛️ Government
Kentucky State Police honored Lt. Brandon Brooks — a 14-year veteran from Grayson County — with his second Lifesaving Award in 2025; he currently leads Post 4 in Elizabethtown while a new captain is awaited.
