COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Hermitage Farm in Goshen will host one of the area's largest car shows today from noon to 5 p.m. with about 500 exotic and classic cars from 10 to 12 states and family activities such as trails, horse petting, and autographs from University of Louisville football players—proceeds benefit Norton Children’s Foundation and First Car Project.  WLKY

ECONOMY NEWS

  • In June, many Lincoln Trail District counties saw lower unemployment rates compared with June 2024, while 115 counties improved, four increased, and one stayed the same. The state average was 4.9%—up from May's 4.4%—with Hardin County at 5.1%, Grayson County at 6%, and Washington County reporting 4.2%.  Quicksie 98.3

EDUCATION NEWS

  • KCTCS is rolling out its first-ever Mental Health Strategy to support more than 110,000 students at 16 colleges through partnerships with The Jed Foundation — Healthy Minds Network and the Council on Postsecondary Education. The plan focuses on six key areas including faculty and staff training, communication campaigns and peer wellness programs to better connect students with needed resources.  K105
  • Hardin County Schools has named Kim Case as the new principal at Central Hardin High School (replacing a principal who served for 15 years) and she will soon take charge of school operations.  The News-Enterprise

  • The annual Cruisin’ the Heartland Festival started Friday at Freeman Lake Park at 2 p.m. and continues today with downtown street closures beginning at 6 a.m.—Elizabethtown Police patrol the area and urge drivers to obey traffic laws.  Quicksie 98.3
