- ➤ Kentucky State Police is searching for missing teen Isabella Demaria, 14, described as 5 feet 1 inch tall with black hair and green eyes who was last seen Monday at 10 p.m. in Glencoe from Gallatin County—she was wearing a dark T-shirt, baggy pants and carrying two dark backpacks, and police say she may be headed to Florida, Covington or Ohio while urging anyone with information to call 502-532-6363. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ John Hardin High School’s Best Buddies program received international recognition in just two years, marking a fast achievement that shows the school’s commitment to peer support. The News-Enterprise
- ➤ Beginning fall 2025, college-bound students from Hardin and Nelson counties will be eligible for in-state tuition at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany—this policy will let them pay lower tuition rates. The News-Enterprise
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ KSP Post Four is joining a multi-state effort to remind drivers to slow down, move over for emergency vehicles, and follow Kentucky’s Move Over Law—this campaign runs until July 26 and warns that breaking the law may lead to fines or jail time. Quicksie 98.3
- ➤ Construction begins today on the dual roundabout interchange at U.S. 62/U.S. 31W Bypass in Elizabethtown as Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District Four says the ramp from U.S. 31W Bypass southbound to U.S. 62 and the U.S. 62 ramp will be closed with traffic shifting to one lane in each direction—detours guide vehicles while work continues and is set to finish by November 1. - ➤ Elizabethtown City Council met Tuesday and voted to hold a first reading on a zoning ordinance at 2111 Ring Road and 1151 Pear Orchard Road — a change from R-3 to C-3 that will allow the construction of a 60,000 square foot VA medical clinic. Residents shared support and concerns during public comments, and the council will vote on the second reading at its next meeting on July 28. Quicksie 98.3
