- ➤ Louisville officials and local provider Kinetic are fighting copper theft that rose from 40 incidents in 2024 to 70 in early 2025—installing tamper detection systems, using night vision, thermal surveillance and GPS trackers, and offering a $5,000 reward for tips to guard rural and metro service networks. - ➤ Elizabethtown’s annual Cruisin’ the Heartland Festival will begin Thursday, July 24 with a movie at the State Theater as tickets cost $5 and include popcorn and a drink—this year’s film is Smokey and the Bandit. Festival events will continue on Friday with a car show and free concert and on Saturday with a swap meet, breakfast at the Historic State Theater, and other activities for all ages. Quicksie 98.3
