- ➤ On Monday afternoon at 3:00, 77-year-old Laura Gilpin crossed the center line between Elizabethtown and Bardstown near the intersection of Boston Road and Bennetts Lane and collided with a Dodge Avenger driven by 26-year-old Jasmine Simpson—Gilpin was pronounced dead at the hospital while Simpson and a juvenile passenger were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. - ➤ Kentucky will offer 15-year-olds a chance to obtain driving permits on August 2 with over 1,300 test appointments available at 12 locations statewide, including one in Elizabethtown, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and applicants must bring required documents (birth certificate, Social Security proof, and school compliance verification) to complete the test.
