  • Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Foodmart in Eastview—no further details have been released.  The News-Enterprise

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Wesley Hilltop, a local community center, is offering a wide variety of summer camps for young children in July—camp sessions will run throughout the month.  The News-Enterprise
  • A state audit by Auditor Allison Ball released July 4 shows the education department let millions in school funds lapse and misused money on diversity efforts—creating a $250 million gap over the past four years. The department said it disagrees with the report and that moving funds must be approved by the General Assembly.  WKYU-FM

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Friday, 48 people from 21 nationalities became U.S. citizens at Locust Grove during a naturalization ceremony attended by state leaders including Secretary of State Michael Adams and Congressman Morgan McGarvey. Adams said the event shows the true American spirit—highlighting their long journey to citizenship.  WLKY
