Hardin County Animal Shelter in E-town features Furever Friends with two dogs (Carl, a 2-year-old black and brown Shepherd weighing 60 lbs, and Conway, a 2-year-old brown merle and white Catahoula weighing 45 lbs) seeking homes; the shelter will be closed Friday and Saturday for Independence Day.
SpringHaven, the local shelter for survivors, closed yesterday due to funding issues, and ZeroV announced a transition plan — local agencies will partner to keep support available until a new provider is set up.
SpringHaven Inc. announced Tuesday that it will remain open after planning to close on June 30 thanks to a new nonprofit partnership with Caritas Care Solutions that provides integrated 24/7 support & expanded services for survivors.
The organization now accepts referrals to meet growing community demand.
