Elizabeth Foster and Jenny Smith described the upcoming Adaptive Recreation Showcase, a one-day event on July 19 that will offer live adaptive sports demonstrations free to all.

They explained that adaptive sports help people with disabilities build strength and independence—boosting both physical and mental health in the community.

County fairs will bring summer excitement across the region as events run from late June to early September.

The Kentucky State Fair will be held at the KY Expo Center Aug. 14—24—other local fairs offer varying admission fees and schedules for visitors.

The annual Fort Knox Freedom Fest ’25 will kick off at Brooks Parade Field beginning at 6 p.m. on July 4.

KCTCS reported a record-breaking academic year with 44,402 credentials granted and 24,263 graduates earning at least one credential — spring semester records were set with 23,212 credentials for 13,468 graduates.

Registration for fall classes at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College opens August 12 while classes begin August 18.
