Elizabethtown Nature Park is set to display historic military vehicles near the Veterans Tribute and offer Huey 369 helicopter rides on July 2 and 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents can sign up for the rides for a fee + registration on site, with flights subject to weather.

Joyce Vercellino, a GED instructor at a local jail, was named a finalist for a national honor Thursday morning; her nomination recognizes her dedication to inmate education (a distinction that highlights her positive impact in the community).

New and prospective students are invited to attend ECTC (Elizabethtown Community and Technical College) Open House Days held every Tuesday in July from noon to 6:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Regional Postsecondary Center, with campus tours at 1:00 p.m. for those beginning classes Aug. 17.

The Elizabethtown PD reminded drivers that once they enter a roundabout they own it until they exit & urged everyone to follow the flow after a recent interruption.

The department also noted additional roundabouts are planned along the William Thomason Byway.
