  • An Elizabethtown man convicted of organized crime and drug trafficking walked away from custody at Bluegrass Career and Development Center in Richmond on Sunday at about 6:45 p.m.—the 28-year-old, Jarod Ryan Barnes, was serving a 20-year sentence and police urge anyone with information to come forward.  K105

  • The Stephen Foster Drama Association is preparing its 25th-annual July 4 Celebration outside the J. Dan Talbott Amphitheatre before The Stephen Foster Story’s 8 p.m. performance. ECONOMY NEWS

  • Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary May jobless rate was 5 percent, a 0.2-point drop from April and 0.1 point above last year according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics. Employment increased by 4,321 jobs to 2,013,428 while manufacturing added 3,300 jobs and the labor force grew to 2,119,740 in May.  K105
