This week Hardin County Animal Shelter in Elizabethtown introduces Reed, a 4-year-old husky with one blue eye and one blue-brown eye weighing 90 pounds and Lainey, a 1-year-old tan pittie weighing 45 pounds who are seeking Furever homes.

Interested residents can call 270-769-3428 or visit the shelter at 220 Peterson Drive Monday-Saturday from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

Hardin County Schools is now accepting nominations for Distinguished Alumni from graduates who finished high school at least five years ago.

Nominations must be submitted by July 25 — winners will be honored in a ceremony on September 25 at the Early College and Career Center.
