  • CASA of the Heartland raised $76,000 at its biggest fundraiser of the year with the Farm to Fork event Saturday night at Highland Sod Farms—local residents enjoyed live music and great food while supporting the organization’s mission to help children in need.  The News-Enterprise

CULTURE NEWS

  • West Point will launch its summer concert series Friday as Hardin County’s northern city rocks the river every third Friday during the summer—bringing music performances to the area.  The News-Enterprise

ECONOMY NEWS

  • In 2024, Kentucky’s tourism generated a record $14.3 billion in economic impact and Hardin County saw a 4% increase—bringing in $371 million in value and supporting 2,623 local jobs. Local officials noted that tourism also produced $29.7 million in tax revenue and $76.4 million in labor income while projects like the Buffalo Lake outdoor music venue promise further growth.  Quicksie 98.3

  • Elizabethtown Community and Technical College will launch a new Automation, Industrial and Robotics Technology program that aims to boost advanced manufacturing skills—supporting regional economic development in the area.  The News-Enterprise

  • State officials warn that even with improved water quality, any water body could pose health risks, so residents should act safely when swimming, fishing, boating or canoeing this summer. The Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet and public health experts advise avoiding water ingestion & contact with open wounds, especially after heavy rain or near pollution sources.  Quicksie 98.3
