EDUCATION NEWS

  • EPD is hosting a school supply drive to provide students with essential items as summer break ends + school starts. The drive will help ensure that supplies are available before the new school year begins.  The News-Enterprise

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, soldiers at Fort Knox gathered before dawn for a 5K run to mark the U.S. Army's 250th birthday, kicking off weekend celebrations.  The News-Enterprise
  • The Hardin County Board of Tax Appeals will meet Tuesday in a special called meeting to review the assessment on Blue Oval SK in Glendale.  The News-Enterprise
  • Kentucky Lt. Gov. Coleman spoke on Wednesday at the Hardin County Chamber luncheon about the Pre-K for All Initiative and said investing in early education can boost kindergarten readiness — which may lower future costs from poor literacy rates. The Beshear administration’s plan will build preschools, eliminate childcare deserts, and grow the labor force, and Coleman urged community members to help the advisory committee gather feedback statewide.  Quicksie 98.3
