COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Cameron Ponder Car Show is scheduled for July 19 in Brandenburg to raise money for the Trooper Ponder Memorial Scholarship — the funds will support college tuition awards.  The News-Enterprise
  • The City of Elizabethtown hosted the 2025 Lawn Party at the Lake concert series Wednesday night at Freeman Lake Park—Kevin Jaggers headlined at 6:30 with food trucks, lawn games, and festival-style seating while parking opened at 5:30 at the Blue Heron Way entrance.  Quicksie 98.3

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Scooter’s Coffee hosted a ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration on June 6 at its new Elizabethtown location at 901 N. Mulberry St.+ marking its entrance into the Hardin County community.  The News-Enterprise

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts announced its 2025 class featuring 10 Hardin County students — marking the program’s 38th year of offering state-level training to young artists.  The News-Enterprise
  • Elizabethtown Community and Technical College will offer a practical nursing diploma at its Leitchfield campus starting in August—this one-year program includes fall, spring and a summer session with an initial cohort of 10 students expanding to 20 in 2026; applicants must attend pre-admission conferences on June 18 and July 1 and meet prerequisite requirements before the July 14 deadline.  K105

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Tuesday, the Hardin County Fiscal Court approved the county budget for fiscal year 2025-2026, though Eighth District Magistrate Kenny Muse opposed it because reserve funds were used — the council also amended the previous budget for road aid receipts, a step in grade, and a one percent cost-of-living adjustment. Officials added that the health department recorded 14,856 visits so far and FEMA extended the Individual Assistance registration deadline to July 25 — the court will meet again on June 24.  Quicksie 98.3
