Good morning, Elizabethtown.
Hardin County Schools and Elizabethtown Independent Schools are partnering this summer on 'Mother Goose on the Loose' to help parents and young children learn word sounds, rhyme, and rhythm by finding nursery rhymes on porch geese at local elementary schools and the Hardin County Public Library—officials recorded these rhymes for school social media pages. Officials kicked off the program at the library, and school leaders stressed that building phonological awareness now will benefit future reading skills.
Fort Knox has advised locals that military training now through June 19 may lead to more noise and vibrations—exercises will include aircraft maneuvers and weapons firing during both day and night.
