- ➤ A major Hardin County factory caught fire Wednesday when firefighters reached Akebono Brake Corporation at 300 Ring Road and found smoke coming from the roof caused by a piece of equipment; two workers suffered smoke inhalation while the blaze was quickly brought under control — the plant, which will close in December after over 35 years in operation, is expected to lose about 640 jobs.
