ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Nelson County EMS announced the loss of paramedic Wesley England, *41 years old*, who died on June 2 after a May 23 crash and was airlifted to a trauma center in Nashville. WLKY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Elizabethtown City Council held its first meeting Monday to review the fiscal year 2025 to 2026 budget ordinance that shows available funds of $157,969,480, planned expenditures of $126,940,521, and an estimated ending balance of about $31 million. The council approved a road salt bid from Compass Minerals at $122 per ton while Mayor Jeff Gregory praised the budget and noted the increase in police staffing — the council will next meet June 9. - ➤ KYTC District Four crews will begin asphalt resurfacing on an 11-mile stretch of Bluegrass Parkway from mile markers 24 to 35 on June 9, with work finishing by November 1. Crews are also replacing bridge deck surfaces in Hardin County, with lane restrictions on KY 1375, KY 84 and KY 361 affecting traffic until mid-July. Quicksie 98.3
