  • Community members gathered at a Touch a Truck event where car horns honked and children laughed to support a local child fighting cancer—the event celebrated the child's love for cars and brought neighbors together in Elizabethtown.  The News-Enterprise
  • Saturday morning, many residents visited Pearl Hollow Landfill on free dump day to dispose of unwanted items—trucks and cars lined up as the site was busier than usual.  The News-Enterprise

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Eight Girl Scouts from Kentucky and southern Indiana earned the Gold Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout can earn, by completing a project that addresses local or global issues. Maggie Elder, CEO of Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, said less than 5.5% of eligible scouts achieve the award — the project is meant to create lasting change.  WLKY

HEALTH NEWS

  • Baptist Health Hardin will host a Survivorship Walk and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Community Health Walk and Running Trail—an event planned to mark improved community health options.  The News-Enterprise
