CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Kentucky State Police is highlighting the case of Rosalyn Velazquez, a Radcliff teen who went missing from her apartment on August 24, 2020, after she left at 1 a.m. wearing a blue jacket—Radcliff Police now offer a $10,000 reward for information that leads to her return. K105
- ➤ Steven Lawson's trial began Tuesday at the Warren County Justice Center—he faces charges of Conspiracy to Commit Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence—Judge Charles Simms III denied motions to postpone the case and allow a courtroom camera while a 15 member jury, including three alternates, was selected and opening statements started around 12:30 p.m. Quicksie 98.3
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Andy Beshear and the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet announced that seven counties will share about $886,000 from the Waste Tire Trust Fund to improve road safety using rubber-modified asphalt and Hardin County will receive about $136,000 to resurface County Road 1274 while LaRue and Meade counties also receive funds for similar projects. - ➤ On Tuesday, the Elizabethtown City Council held a hearing on Municipal Road Aid funds where Mayor Jeff Gregory said the 2025 to 2026 budget of about $126.9 million would use reserves and external funding to cover $703,918 and support plans to pave 54 city streets and resurface 12.5 miles. The council approved two rezoning ordinances and a $158,000 contract with Palmer Engineering plus will meet again on June 2. Quicksie 98.3
- ➤ The Hardin County Fiscal Court met Tuesday and approved a 2024-2025 budget amendment + a resolution for an engineering services contract with the Lincoln Trail Area Development District for a pavement analysis toolkit costing no more than $15,000. The meeting also covered 4,118 E911 calls in April and nearly $2.5 million in Individual Assistance claims for April storms and flooding, and the court will meet again on June 10. Quicksie 98.3
