COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Suicidal Motorsports LLC will host the Bluegrass Biker Bash this Saturday at American Legion Hardin Post 113 in Elizabethtown (the event includes bike shows with prizes, a slow drag competition, live music, food trucks, and kids activities for all).  Quicksie 98.3
  • A year after a tornado devastated London, local builders are adding storm shelters to new homes + residents are prioritizing safety; starting in January, a state program will reimburse homeowners up to $5,000 for safe rooms.  WKYU-FM

CULTURE NEWS

  • From June through September, music will fill downtown as Brown-Pusey House’s Tavern in the Garden hosts its annual summer social every Thursday evening for local residents + visitors.  The News-Enterprise

ECONOMY NEWS

  • The Kentucky Center for Statistics reported that in 2025 the unemployment rate in the Lincoln Trail District was 4.8 percent, which is slightly above the state's 4.6 percent average. Grayson County led with 5.9 percent while Washington County had the lowest rate at 4 percent.  Quicksie 98.3

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Hardin County Schools is hosting its USDA-funded Summer Meals Program from June 3 to July 29 with no meals on July 3 due to the Independence Day holiday; free meals are offered for children 18 and younger and $4 lunches available for adults. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Kentucky Fish and Wildlife reminds boaters and motorists to exercise caution this Memorial Day weekend; game wardens, the U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies will patrol waterways (checking proper life jacket use and sobriety) to ensure safety.  Quicksie 98.3
  • At Thursday’s Grayson County Fiscal Court meeting, Jailer Jason Woosley approved using $3,000 from the jail fund to help CASA of the Heartland recruit volunteers for 27 children awaiting assistance. Fiscal Court backed the move to boost volunteer training + address the county’s shortage.  K105
  • Fort Knox will host its Memorial Day ceremony in Radcliff at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central on Monday, May 25 at 11:30 a.m. Meanwhile, Elizabethtown has moved its program to American Legion Hardin Post 113 at 1251 Ring Road due to forecast inclement weather, with a start at 11 a.m.  Quicksie 98.3
