- ➤ Laurel County firefighter Maj. Les Leatherman died last Friday while responding to a fire alarm on Sunshine Hills Road and used his body to shield his wife during the tornado—visitation is set for 10 a.m. Monday at Faith Assembly of God Church in London and his funeral will follow. WLKY

- ➤ Jason A. Brownlee, a 21-year-old from Bowling Green, was arrested after firing several rounds during an argument outside Smoke Buddy Smoke Shop on May 1 that missed his intended target and struck an occupied home on South Wilson Road + he now faces charges of attempted murder and felony wanton endangerment while held on a $500,000 cash bond, authorities said. - ➤ The Stephen Foster Drama Association will open its summer season on Friday, June 13 with the Lights Up! production of The Stephen Foster Story. - ➤ Hardin County Schools Nutrition Department will offer a summer meals program for children 18 and under from June 2 through July 25. Meals will be served at three high school locations from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays except Fourth of July & at eight mobile sites throughout the county, and adults will have the option to purchase meals for $3. - ➤ Fort Knox is set to host its annual Memorial Day ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 26 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff. The event will feature Brigadier General Barnett as keynote speaker, a ceremonial wreath laying, a 21-gun salute, a flag folding, and the playing of 'Taps,' with cemetery visitation available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Quicksie 98.3
- ➤ West Point Mayor Richard Ciresi said an interlocal agreement with Hardin and Bullitt counties cut ambulance response times from 20 to 25 minutes to six minutes, and the City of West Point will host a ceremony on Wednesday to celebrate the change.
