  • Redeemer Lutheran Church held its first service in the rebuilt sanctuary on Easter Sunday, marking a major milestone since the May 2025 tornado damaged the church. Meanwhile, South Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative is rebuilding its headquarters to restore power for thousands of customers before the end of the year.  WKYU-FM

CULTURE NEWS

  • GoldStars traveling tribute will spend Memorial Day weekend in Elizabethtown honoring service members who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. The event is set for the upcoming long weekend and offers the community a reflective tribute.  The News-Enterprise

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Yesterday was hot with temperatures reaching the low 90s and a few late storms over southern Indiana; today, a strong cold front brings scattered showers and storms with damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph plus a chance for large hail, easing by Wednesday morning.  WLKY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Andy Beshear announced $6 million in grants for projects that reduce solid waste and improve hazardous material management (expanding recycling) across the state, with some initiatives expected to benefit our community. The funding will support new efforts to lessen landfill waste in the coming months.  The News-Enterprise
