EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ ECTC celebrated its Spring 2026 graduation Tuesday, May 12 at Severns Valley Baptist Church with 303 graduates and hundreds of guests in record attendance—two back-to-back ceremonies honored students earning degrees for high-demand careers and future college transfers. K105
- ➤ A new report from the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education shows that more students have graduated on time and earned advanced credentials as public and community college enrollment increased from Fall 2024 to Fall 2025, though rising costs have boosted unmet financial need. K105
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Hardin County Government closed the historic White Mills Bridge to all traffic after a state inspection this week, and KYTC District Four closed KY 79 over the Rough River Lake Spillway Bridge near the Breckinridge County line until Thursday — engineers planned to inspect the deck before a June repair. - ➤ The Rough River Lake Spillway Bridge on Hwy 79 in Falls of Rough was closed Wednesday for inspection and is expected to reopen later Thursday. Steel plates cover the damaged section as repair work begins Monday (limiting traffic to one lane with a temporary signal). K105
