- ➤ Newlywed couple Javen and Katelyn Adkins saw their home heavily damaged during flooding, following their joyful wedding on April 5—now they plan repairs to get back on their feet. The News-Enterprise
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division is taking part in International Roadcheck today— a three-day program that inspects trucks and motorcoaches for safety by checking brakes, lights, tires and cargo securement. Inspectors will use the North American Standard Inspection to issue CVSA decals to vehicles that pass the safety tests. K105
- ➤ On Tuesday, the Hardin County Fiscal Court held its first reading of the 2025-2026 county budget—approving a plan with total revenues and appropriations of $59,814,655—after revisions by Judge/Executive Keith Taul and the Finance Committee. Public hearings were held for county road aid funding of $2,214,663 and economic assistance funding of $272,341, and the court will meet again on May 27 to continue the review. Quicksie 98.3
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ State officials and pro-life Kentuckians gathered Tuesday at the Capitol to sign House Bill 90, a comprehensive maternal healthcare measure that expands freestanding birthing centers and clarifies treatment for complications in pregnancy. The bill—also known as the Mary Carol Akers Birth Centers Act and the Love Them Both Act of 2025—took effect immediately after lawmakers overrode the governor’s veto on March 27. K105
