  • Jason Nelson explained his three-year-old granddaughter Magnolia was diagnosed with periventricular leukomalacia and cerebral palsy but has shown progress with stem cell therapy + she is taking more steps with her gait trainer. A benefit ride to support her treatment will run from the Brandenburg boat ramp to Waters Edge Winery on Saturday, May 17th with registration starting at 10:30 a.m. + all vehicles are welcome.  Quicksie 98.3

CRIME NEWS

  • A Hardin County man struck four bicyclists on May 5 on Pembroke Rd, resulting in the death of 31-year-old Marlene Martin and leaving 34-year-old Rachel Hoover in critical condition — he was arrested for DUI on his third such offense and held at the Christian County Detention Center with a $100,000 cash bond — additional charges are expected.  K105
  • Elizabethtown police warn that scammers posing as FEMA officials are going door to door asking about flood damage and requesting sensitive details such as Social Security numbers, insurance info and bank account numbers—residents should verify a worker's identity before sharing any information.  WLKY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Fifteen-year-old Kentuckians will have more than 1,500 written permit test appointments at 20 sites this Saturday (May 17) as part of House Bill 15 that lets them earn driver permits. Applicants must use the state’s online portal to choose a convenient time and bring required documents, including a birth certificate and Social Security card, to the Elizabethtown Regional Test Site at 1055 North Mulberry Street.  Quicksie 98.3
