COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Radcliff Woman’s Club hosted a spring fundraiser on Tuesday at Colvin Community Center that mixed food, fun, and local information. The event brought neighbors together to share stories and build community ties.  The News-Enterprise
  • Applications are open for the 2026 Kentucky Proud Farm to Fork program to support local events that promote locally grown food and help local charities (review guidelines for details).  The News-Enterprise

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Elizabethtown Community and Technical College will host Express Enrollment on May 13-14 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and May 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for classes starting June 1 and Aug. 17. Students may visit (room 101 at the Regional Postsecondary Center) or sign up online.  K105
  • Hardin County Schools announced that eight schools and a career center will limit free meals to students who qualify, with full-price lunches costing $3.25 for the 2026-2027 school year. The district said the change is needed to meet reimbursement rules.  WLKY

HEALTH NEWS

  • Two firefighters were bitten by brown recluse spiders at Fire Station No. 3 (1800 block of Ring Road) and were treated at WorkWell Occupational Health; they were moved to Fire Station No. 1 while exterminators treat the station, with a return expected today.  K105
  • Hardin County EMS is hosting Teddy Bear Clinics in Elizabethtown where children learn to call 911 and handle emergencies using their teddy bears through interactive sessions. The program, led by Jennifer Kant and supported by Michelle Bowen, helps kids build confidence until first responders arrive.  WLKY
