- ➤ Gov. Beshear announced an emergency regulation to cut the state gas tax by 10 cents & freeze a rate increase, with the change set to take effect May 11 pending legal approval as families face rising fuel costs from the war with Iran. WLKY
- ➤ The mayor signed a proclamation for National Period Poverty Awareness Week (May 11 to 17) to highlight the need for improved access to menstrual products. Local organizations are set to lead related outreach. The News-Enterprise
- ➤ Local and state officials are running several road projects that will affect commuting in the coming days. The work includes overnight ramp closures on Interstate 65 and lane changes near KY 245 plus construction of an Elizabethtown roundabout beginning Monday, May 18 (with temporary speed reductions during construction).
